BookOn Payment
To purchase a product that is running in demonstration mode, the user clicks Help/Pay for this product from the product menu. After a successful purchase, the user receives a confirmation e-mail from the payment system. The user clicks Help/Activate and types or copies/pastes the information from confirmation e-mail into the activation window. The program then verifies the purchase information and—if the information is valid—activates the product.
The primary BookOn payment options are as follows:
Option 1: Publish with MediaTechnics Corporation
For individual authors, the easiest option is to have MediaTechnics Corporation publish the book. MediaTechnics produces the digital version, links and tests the product, and configures it to use the MediaTechnics PayPal and credit card processing system. MediaTechnics lists the product on its Web sites and provides limited marketing for the title, although the author is encouraged to actively participate in marketing to maximize sales. All sales are handled via the MediaTechnics servers and the MediaTechnics PayPal and credit card accounts. At the end of each quarter, MediaTechnics generates a sales report and a royalty payment for sales during that period. The typical arrangement is a 50/50 split, with 50 percent of sales going to the author and 50 percent going to MediaTechnics to cover production costs, operating costs, and use of the BookOn technology.
Option 2: Keycode Activation
If you prefer to directly manage the payment and activation process yourself, we can configure your product to use activation keycodes. You would handle the payment system, delivering a keycode to each person who buys your product. That keycode would allow purchasers to activate that product for full use.
You would purchase additional activation keycodes as needed, which you would sell to your readers. Essentially, purchase of the keycodes constitutes your payment for use of the BookOn technology. The price for keycodes varies, depending in part on the product and the volume of keycodes purchased, but is typically $2.00 per keycode, with lower prices available for higher volumes.

Option 3: Custom Payment and Activation
BookOn products can be configured to use almost any online payment and activation system. If you’re interested in a customized payment and/or activation system, contact MediaTechnics Corporation to discuss the options.
